During my long career in P&G, I covered a number of assignments, like Team mgr, Operations Dept Mgr, Process Development mgr, Operations mgr, Human Resources mgr. I also Worked in Brussels as Planning Mgr. This is one of the reason why I like working in P&G: you do not need to change company in order to have diverse assignments!
1. Jak jsi se dozvěděl(a) o Procter & Gamble?
I studied Chemical Engineering at Rome University. I graduated in 1980. My Professor of Chemical Engineering told me about a great opportunity for a summer stage at P&G Pomezia Plant. I went to the Plant and they offered me not only the stage, bust also the possibility to prepare my experimental Thesis. Subject was Optimization of Bas Soap Drying Process. The stage lasted 5 months. After my graduation, P&G offered me a job as Team Manager.
2. Jak vzpomínáš na své začátky v kariéře u nás?
I remember two key things: 1) the responsibilities I have been given very early on, in spite of my lack of experience. This was true for both my summer internship and my first assignment. 2) The huge training and learning opportunities, coming from a variety of sources, disciplines and even nationalities!
3. Kde nyní pracuješ?
My job now is Plant Manager in Rakona plant. Before this assignment I was Plant Manager in another laundry plant and in Tissue & Towel plant, both in Italy.

I also Worked in Brussels as Planning Mgr. This is one of the reason why I like working in P&G: you do not need to change company in order to have diverse assignments! You grow an enormous experience and knowledge. The other reason why I like P&G is its principle based decision making. You are not forced to do things that do not fit with your core values. Finally, at P&G you can really learn leadership skills, work for a vision, get coaching by experienced leaders. On the other hand, P&G is very demanding and you really have to learn how to successfully manage your work/life balance.
There are also many challenges to overcome. We work in a very competitive environment, both internally and externally. Our products are a mix of technology, research, marketing, and you can be successful only if are able to build a great organization capable of delivering this to consumers at lowest cost and best quality. Working with people is the most rewarding challenge I can think of!
